Turrican at the Games Convention 2006
Better late then never: I just dug out some pictures from the Games Convention 2006 in Leipzig, where I saw an impressive Retro-Gaming-Stand from Magnussoft, with a large Turrican-Poster. See the pictures here.
There is a complete Lionheart (see SETA) Remake available for free at http://b3dgs.free.fr/, it only requires a short Forum-Registration.
New CD by Chris Huelsbeck!
As Chris Huelsbeck stated in an Interview with 4players.de, he will try to release a new CD until the Games Convention (23.08.2007).
This would be the first album for about ten years, and the demotrack at 4players.de sounds quite fresh and promising (look for "Preview aus dem HCD9-Album")!
The Album will not contain any game-music-remixes, partly out of copyright-reasons, expect it to remind of the "good old days", but to be more electronical then the last Albums, which were more orchestral.
Factor 5 News
In an Interview with Gamasutra, Julian Eggebrecht of Factor 5 mentioned that Factor 5 ist thinking about doing a new Turrican game:
"...I was looking at Metroid Prime's reinventing of a franchise that had been out there for quite awhile, and we're facing the same thing with Turrican.
There's aspects of the old games where people will feel betrayed if we don't transform them into the next generation. On the other hand, there's other stuff which is simply cheesy, let's face it. I don't think gamers will accept those things anymore. It's a fine line to balance."
Do you think this time there´s a real chance they might to a Turrican-alike game, or will it be just another Thornado? And will it still be Turrican without "the cheesy stuff" or Manfred Trenz?
Diskuss it at the Forum.

"What we are thinking about is basically with the PS3 is going back to our old Turrican games, and basically, finally doing something like that but in 3D."
Lets see if they finally do something like this, or if it will be a second Thornado.
