06.11.2025 Klavierabend Amiga 40 Jahre (sorry, german only, because in germany ;)) Short: Amiga Piano concert by Kordian Więcek! Be there! Tell your friends! (yes, I´m also looking at you, Robert!) "Der Kultcomputer Amiga feiert seinen 40. Geburtstag. Sorry. Und wann? 21.November 18.30 Uhr Und nun? Nicht mehr warten. Tragt es in den Kalender ein. Kauf dir dein Loom noch heute (Ups, das war irgendwie falsch)" (also thanks to Gerry for the tip, Kordian also mailed me, I´m just sloooow...) Older news on Kordian here
| 29.03.2025 24 Preludes about Amiga Themes by Kordian Więcek Kordian Więcek who brought us Dueling Pianos: Turrican just released 24 Preludes about Amiga Themes! "It's been exactly 10 years since the first Opus Retro piece, Turrican, premiered, and I think it's fitting to expand the cycle with the Amiga Preludes. It's another great homage on my part to the great musicians who created unforgettable moments with their artistry, some of whom are still writing music today or have sadly passed away. The Amiga Preludes are conceived so that they aren't listened to and played individually, but rather as a complete cycle. It's a concert piece that takes you back to the good old days. That's one of the reasons why I ultimately decided on this selection of compositions and gratefully adopted several of your suggestions, even though I didn't even know all of the pieces and games. But they fit perfectly into this project. Thank you all again for all your suggestions. I also spent a long time fine-tuning the sound and ultimately returned to the Alicia Keys VST. I tried mastering it, and "unfortunately" this is the version that isn't completely flawless, but it's the one I like best in some ways, as certain frequencies come through better than in other versions or piano sounds. It's not perfect, but the bass in particular comes across clearer and cleaner than in many other versions. listen and enjoy :) Happy Birthday Amiga!" For all, like me, who didn´t know: "A prelude (German: Präludium or Vorspiel; Latin: praeludium; French: prélude; Italian: preludio) is a short piece of music, the form of which may vary from piece to piece." | 02.05.2022 Atmosphere Album Crowdfunding Campaign by Kordian Więcek Kordian, who brought you the epic Dueling Pianos: Turrican Piano-Arrangement, has a croundfunding-campaign for a (not Turrican-related) Piano-CD: "After long work and 2 albums I'm starting a crowdfunding campaign to produce an album with my songs. The videos I uploaded earlier pretty much reflect my taste in music, however this is not a classical music album. I would like the whole thing as an ambient music with different influences, e.g. describe Japanese composers. You will find a lot of information on the Startnext campaign, otherwise post your questions. I would appreciate your support so that we can join this musical journey together. Only digital download for international backers" Sounds wonderful so far, plus the album gehts mastered by Markus Kludzuweit, who also made the "The Settlers"-Amiga-soundtrack, which is surprisingly complex and also got covered by Kordian. But hurry, only 6 days left to give a fellow turrican fan some support! Please help spread the word ;). https://www.startnext.com/atmosphere-cd-album | ||||
16.10.2021Dueling Pianos: Turrican by Kordian Więcek What a nice surprise in the morning: Kordians fantastic Turrican-arragemenent got released as an album by Chris Huelsbeck, congratulations! "Chris Huelsbeck Productions just released Dueling Pianos: Turrican by Kordian Więcek, check it out here. “Check out this new suite of Turrican piano arrangements for 2 players / 2 full instruments (also known as Dueling Pianos) created by Kordian Więcek, who is an accomplished piano lecturer (instrumental pedagogy) and musical educator! He had the idea in 2014 to arrange “The Great Bath” for 2 pianos played by 2 students and adapt the piece for their skills. The result was an independent and varied version of the work. Having a lot of fun arranging, the “Opening” was written 2 months later, which consists of all 3 Main Themes of Turrican, with the theme of the second title forming the main motif. The remainder of the album - which was designed in the style of program music - was created in 2 weeks during the autumn break and was completed in October 2014. The work musically reproduces the gaming experience that one can live through in a video game. The world premiere took place on March 21, 2015 in Siegburg."
| 24.12.2016 16 Years of Turrican SETA In two days Turrican SETA has it´s 16th birthday! Especially if you consider that the last official Turrican game is now 21 years old, it was quite an eventfull year. We had a new version of T2002, a Kickstarter for an orchestral Turrican album with lots of fine Turrican artwork and the Members of Factor 5 announced they still want to make a new Turrican (see below, "Stay Forever Podcast"). Turrican II – The Orchestral Album was even premiered live, in a concert hall in Bochum and there I finally got to meet some of my personal heroes & Amiga scene legends: Lutz Osterkorn, Chris Hülsbeck, Willi Bäcker (and think I saw Rudolf Stember in die audience), Jan Zottmann and Fabian del Priore (whom I recognized afterwards, until then it seemed just a nice guy named Fabian). It was a pleasure to meet them after the concert and to hear they know about my site, sadly there wasn´t much time to ask about some cool stories. But Willi promised they´d verfiy my data on my makers-page and so I received an email from Andreas Escher. Which I´ve still got to anwser (if your´re reading this: Sorry, I´m still considering what the hell I could ask/write, now that I have the opportunity ;). So, again thanks to you all, especially to everyone who regularly posts in the shoutbox! Note: sorry, xmas timeout, I´ll write some more tomorrow :)
Some Impressions from the Turrican II – The Orchestral Album premiere

20.01.2016(Turrican?) Piano Concert in Siegburg On February the 13. will be another game-music Piano-Concert in Siegburg at the Engelbert Humperdinck music-school. What is played will be a surprise, but according to the flyer it seems to include Final Fight (the beat em up, not Turrican! Hopefully the brilliant Amiga "lost in Time" version.) The motto is "A small contemporary history of the computermusic-world from 1985 to the present". In youtube, Kordian, the arranger and pianist, also stated to play Amiga and PS3 music (see comments). See what you missed last year on youtube. Please spread the word, print out the poster and come listen! Download Flyer Download Poster
